Railroad Commissioner Ryan Sitton addressed the state on Thursday to calm nerves about potential gas shortages.
In a release from the RRC, officials say residents of Texas should not fear a shortage as many refineries are still running at full capacity.
The address came after growing concerns of a gas shortage throughout the state in the wake of Hurricane Harvey, which shut down some refineries of forced others to operate at reduced capacity.
RRC officials say there is no need for concern as Texas has a 230 million barrel supply of gasoline to meet needs.
However, locally, some gas stations have signs posted regarding gas shortages or lack of gas.
