RANKIN, Texas (Big 2 / Fox 24 ) – It was as somber day at Gossett Elementary school in Rankin as students mourn the loss of their classmates Rylee and Reece Ramos who were tragically killed in a car accident Saturday night.

Sammy Wyatt, the superintendent of schools at Rankin ISD, said the district has been getting help from neighboring schools to offer resources to help students grieve.

“They all came out today and provided alot of emotional support for staff and students and really were very calming force at our school district,”Wyatt said. “It made things go much smoother if they were not here.”
