Project Graduation: law enforcement on the lookout for underage drinking

ODESSA, Texas (Nexstar)- Area law enforcement will be watching for underage drinking parties and drug use the next two weekends as graduation nears. 

According to the Odessa Police Department, the Project Graduation operation will take place May 22, 28, and 29. 

Odessa Crime Stoppers, , Texas Department of Public Safety, OPD, Ector County ISD Police, Hospital Police, University of Texas Permian Basin Police, and the Ector County Sheriff’s Office will increase patrol in anticipation of calls related to graduation parties and will be on the hunt for drunk drivers, minors in possession and those providing alcohol or drugs to underage children. 

Adults who provide alcohol to minors may be charged with Furnishing Alcohol to Minors and Social Host Accountability. It is illegal to provide alcohol to anyone underage, even in your own home.
