West Texas Oil and Gas Convention kicks off

MIDLAND, TX (Big 2 / Fox 24) – The 7th Annual Roseland West Texas Oil and Gas Convention kicked off this week, 2 years since the previous event due to COVID-19. The convention, which is held at the Horseshoe Complex, provides the opportunity for businesses in the oil and gas industry to buy and sell with each other, but also gives people the opportunity to network.

“It’s a great environment to meet new people,” Denny Bilcher, general manager of Roseland Oil and Gas says. “We’re putting the buyers and sellers together in the same place.”

This event has everything from heavy machinery to wearable safety gear. One business there, Oilfield 365, starts out like many West Texas businesses, in the family. Arving and Jose Arizaga started the business after Jose couldn’t find the clothes he was looking for online. With help from Arving, they started the apparel company, and are at the convention for the first time.

“I’m surprised how many people have come out to support,” Arving says. “This is our first event and I can’t complain.” Jose says that he credits the oilfield community. He knows that it’s a tight knit community. “They’re like family away from family,” he says.

The West Texas Oil and Gas Convention continues on March 25 at the Horseshoe Arena and ends at 2 p.m..
