Police: Seven shot during party in Hobbs


Three pronounced dead at scene

HOBBS, New Mexico (Big 2/Fox 24) – The Hobbs Police Department is investigating after seven people were shot at a party overnight.

Officials say officers were called to the party 12:48 a.m. Sunday morning in the 1700 block of Bond Street.

At the scene, police found seven people who had been shot. The victims include:

Kahlil Carter, 18, Hobbs
Kristal Avena, 24, Hobbs
Lamar Lee Kane Jr., 22, of Washington D.C.
Michael Major, 21, of Florida.
Turon Windham, 21, of Chicago
Rontrell Hills, 23, of Louisiana
Jasmine Stansell, 20, of Amarillo

Police officials say Carter, Avena and Kane Jr. were all pronounced dead at the scene.

Windham, Hills and Stansell have been transported to a Lubbock hospital for treatment.

Hobbs Police say the investigation is ongoing and anyone with information is asked to contact the HPD at 575-397-9265.
