ODESSA, Texas (Big 2/Fox 24) - One man is facing charges after police say he offered an officer money to take him home.
It began when Odessa Police were called to a disturbance on Monday in the 2100 block of Kermit Highway.
Police officials say John Bedgood was identified as the suspect.
Bedgood was reportedly intoxicated and was taken into custody.
As the officer was transporting Bedgood to the jail, he is accused of offering the officer $700 to take him home.
The officer then warned Bedgood that if he did not stop, he could be charged with bribery, according to the release.
However, Bedgood reportedly offered the money to the officer several more times.
Bedgood has since been charged with bribery and public intoxication.
