PECOS COUNTY, Texas (Big 2/Fox 24) – A pedestrian was struck and killed on Interstate 10 Tuesday night in Pecos County, according to the Texas Department of Public Safety.
Troopers were called to the crash around 4:30 p.m. Tuesday on I-10, about a half mile from Fort Stockton.
While investigating, troopers learned that the driver of a Toyota was headed east on I-10 when he collided with the pedestrian that was in the roadway at mile post 256. Following the initial collision, the driver left the roadway into a ditch, officials say.
The driver, Richard Lynn, was taken to Pecos County Memorial Hospital with serious injuries, according to the release.
The pedestrian has not been identified, pending notification of next of kin.
