AUSTIN (KXAN) —  A memorial procession on Congress Avenue to the State Capitol Monday morning honored 13 Texas peace officers who died in the line of duty last year.

The cortege included Honor Guards, combined pipe and drum corps, motorcycles, bicycles and mounted units from across the state.

The line will moved to the south steps of the Capitol where the service — including a riderless horse, taps, rifle volley and a flyover — took place.

Texas Gov. Greg Abbott gave the keynote speech.
