UPDATE: Officer released from hospital


ODESSA, Texas (Big 2/Fox 24) UPDATE – Feliz Romero was live at the scene to tell us about the officer-involved shooting that occurred in south Odessa early Tuesday morning.

Three officers were involved in the shooting and they have all been put on administrative leave pending a full investigation.

ODESSA, Texas (Big 2/Fox 24) – UPDATE: Odessa Police confirm the injured officer has been released from MCH.

We are learning more about an officer-involved shooting that occurred in Odessa early Tuesday morning.

Police officials say officers responded to a shots fired call in the area of Mable and Sam Houston. When Odessa Police officers arrived at the scene, the suspect fired at them, according to Cpl. Steve LeSueur, spokesman for the OPD.

Police officials say it is unknown why the suspect fired on officers.

One officer and the suspect were both injured in the shooting and have been taken to Medical Center Hospital for treatment, according to the OPD.

The OPD is still on scene along with the Texas Rangers.

Police say they could be at the scene for several hours.

Odessa Police are currently responding to an officer-involved shooting in south Odessa.

Police officials say the shooting occurred in Mable and Sam Houston.

Two officers are involved, according to police.
