An Odessa Police Officer is in fair condition after being struck by a vehicle Thursday.
Police officials say the investigation began in the area of 40th and Golder Avenue.
The officer was searching for a suspect in an armed car-jacking that occurred at Hancock near University.
According to police, the officer spotted the vehicle in the area of 40th and Golder and was later struck by the suspect.
The suspect, who remains at-large, then fled on foot, according to the OPD.
Meanwhile, a nearby elementary school, Burleson, has been put on a shelter in place.
