UPDATE: San Antonio man dead following crash in Odessa

ODESSA, Texas (Nexstar)-A San Antonio man is dead following a major crash that occurred Friday.

Around 1:41 p.m. on July 30, OPD was called to the scene of a crash on West County Road near Sunset.

Investigators say Jocelyn Flores, 24, of Odessa was driving a Dodge Durango northbound in the 1700 block of West County Road.

A motorized scooter, being operated by Jack William Ward II, 83, was attempting to cross eastbound across West County Road and was hit struck by the Dodge Durango.

Ward was transported to a local hospital and later pronounced dead. Next of kin were notified. There were no reports of any other injuries and the investigation continues.


Odessa Police are investigating a “major crash” involving life-threatening injuries in the 1700 block of North County Road West.

Police were called to the scene around 1:41 p.m. Friday.

Drivers are encouraged to avoid the area and use alternate routes until further advised.
