The Odessa Police Department is currently investigating four major crashes that occurred over the weekend.
Police officials say the first occurred late Friday night in the area of University and Golder.
While investigating the crash, officers learned that a car collided with a pedestrian, according to a release.
The pedestrian, who has not yet been identified, was pronounced dead at the scene, police say.
The second crash occurred a few minutes later in the area of 42nd Street and Tanglewood Lane.
Police say a motorcyclist was injured and taken to Medical Center Hospital with life threatening injuries.
About an hour later, police were called to another major crash at 56th and Faudree.
Four cars were involved in the crash and one person was transported to MCH with life threatening injuries.
Around 3 a.m. the next morning, officers were called back to 42nd Street and Tanglewood lane about another crash.
Police say one person was transported to MCH with life threatening injuries.
All four crashes are still under investigation.
