ODESSA, Texas (Nexstar)- Odessa Police are asking for help from the community to identify a man accused of robbing a local convenience store at gunpoint.
Around 9 p.m. on April 16, police responded to Kent Kwik at 4117 Andrews Highway about a person with a gun, according to a release.
The investigation revealed an unknown man robbed the business at gunpoint.
One employee we spoke with wanted to conceal his identity. The employee said he is on guard after this robbery and fears for his safety.
“You know it’s probably going to engage people to be like ‘hey this guy got away with it maybe we can too and I’m not trying to be there for that,” the employee said. “There’s nothing really you can do about it.. because we’re not really allowed to fight back or anything. If we do, we get fired. We have to sit there, let them take the money and hope that we don’t get shot.”
The employee hopes the person responsible is caught soon before they target someone else.
“No job is worth your life and that’s what I’m kind of feeling right now, you know.”
If you recognize the suspect from the surveillance photo above, please call Crime Stoppers at 432-333-TIPS.
