One killed in officer-involved shooting, Texas Rangers investigating

ODESSA, Texas (NEXSTAR) – A Lone Star Fugitive Task Force (LSFTF) officer was involved in a shooting Friday in Odessa, according to a release from the U.S. Marshal’s Service.

The shooting occurred at the Comfort Inn around 12:30 p.m.

Officers in the Task Force reportedly attempted to arrest a suspect, wanted for a bond violation with underlying charges of narcotics, before the shooting occurred, the release reads.

The suspect was taken to the hospital following the shooting and officers say he was later pronounced dead.

The U.S. Marshal’s say no members of law enforcement were injured during the incident

The shootout is being investigated by the Texas Rangers.
