ODESSA, Texas (Big 2 / Fox 24) – Many people lined up outside of the Ector County annex on the first day of early voting.

Many safety measures were taken at all five of Ector County’s early voting centers. All voters are required to wear masks. Voting machines were also sanitized after each use as well as socially distanced from each other .

Even though these extra safety measures may have taken more time to get everyone into the voting centers, voters who came out today say they felt safe casting their ballot in person.

“Proper procedures have been put in place and you have your distancing there and everyone is wearing masks,” said Medley Caspe, an Odessa voter. “So I don’t see any problems at all everything I see is disinfected after you leave they disinfect the voting booth so so far it’s safe as long as you keep your hands away from your face.”

Wait times at the Ector County annex was around 15 minutes. All five of Ector County’s early voting centers will be open from 8 A.M to 5 P.M.
