Two Odessa Police Officers will are headed to Dallas for the Texas Police Olympics.

Detectives Mauro Matai and Joshua Aguilar are set to compete with in a joint OPD/Midland Police basketball team.

The team will compete June 14 through June 16.

This is not the first time the OPD and MPD have hit the hardwood. You may remember, months ago, where the departments squared off in a charity game.

Matai was involved in a controversial goaltending call at the end of the game. MPD would go on to win 40-39.

Both Matai and Aguilar will head to Dallas Tuesday morning.
