HOWARD COUNTY, Texas (Big 2/Fox 24) – An Odessa man was killed in a five-car-crash, July 10 in Howard County, according to the Texas Department of Public Safety.
Troopers were called to the crash around 5:32 p.m. July 10 on Interstate 20 about 10 miles west of Big Spring.
While investigating, troopers learned, the driver of a semi-truck was headed west on I-20 and failed to control their speed colliding with a Volkswagen Jetta, according to a release.
After the initial collision, troopers say the semi continued and struck a Kia Rio, pushing it into a Dodge Ram pickup. The semi then crossed the center media of I-20 and collided with another semi-truck that was headed east, according to the report.
The driver of the Jetta, Devin Grier, of Seminole, and the driver of the second semi-truck, Randall Beard, were both injured in the crash and taken to Scenic Mountain Medical Center, the report reads.
The driver of the Kia Rio, Joseph Roczniak, was pronounced dead at the scene of the crash, troopers say.
