Odessa High’s season came to an end at the Regional Semifinal round, but not before the Bronchos got to play on one of the biggest stages in Texas.
Odessa High faced Southlake Carroll on Friday at Globe Life Park, home of the Texas Rangers. The reigning state champions ended the Bronchos’ season with a 6-0 final score.
It was the first time the team had made a Regional Semifinal appearance since 2009. And assistant coach Tate Smith said that is certainly nothing for the team to hang its head about.
“Our senior leadership was awesome and these guys fought to the very end,” Smith said.
Senior Charles McClure agreed the team had nothing to be disappointed about. He had high praise for next year’s group of upperclassmen.
“They’ll come back next year and be even better than this group of seniors,” the outfielder said.
