ODESSA, Texas (ABC Big 2 / FOX 24) March is globally declared as a month dedicated to women.
And Odessa Chambers of Commerce will be higlighting women across the entire Permian Basin that hold leadership roles within the community.
Stacey Brown, CEO of both Odessa Regional Medical Center and Scenic Mountain Medical Center has not problem breaking glass ceilings.
“I’ve had people tell me that in the past, that there’s certain element of my leadership style that set me apart,” Brown says.
In Odessa, women only 52.07 of the population.
Being a role model for youg women is why Stacey has decided to be apart of the first annual Womens International Day panel hosted on the same calander day as Womens International Day.
“To show our community and our up-and-comers and obviously women of all ages that there are women leaders in our community who they can use as mentors, who they can learn from, and help guide them as they go through thier life path,” says Brown.
Stacey is thankful for her mother who has played a pivotal role in both the woman and leader she is today.
“She’s a rockstar..she ran a great household very organized and very efficient and so i think without question i got my leadership skills from my mother,” say Brown.
Due to the pandemic, the event will be virtual and Stacey is more than honored to share the moment with other women leaders in the community.
“They have a lot to offer to our community in terms of things they learn and how they can guide future leaders,” says Brown.
