ODESSA, Texas (Nexstar)- The Odessa Animal Shelter is set to close for at least 30 days amid a distemper exposure.
Odessa Police say the closure comes on the advice Dr. Becky Battershell D.V.M as a precautionary measure, according to a release.
The Odessa Animal Shelter intake will be limited to exposure cases, or the owner can choose to have their pet quarantined with their veterinarian if approved and accepted.
Strays and surrenders will not be accepted, but the shelter will continue to assist with sick or injured animals.
