More than 16,000 Odessans are currently without power, according to Oncor’s online outage map.

Oncor crews are aware of the outages and will work through the night to restore power to all, says Oncor Spokesman Gus Ortega.

Witnesses report baseball-sized hail in East Odessa near Highway 191.

Ortega says there is currently no time table for when the power could be restored.

Residents are asked to call 911 if they see any downed power lines or damaged poles.  You are also asked to stay away from them, as it is unknown if they are live or not.

Ortega says Oncor crews are waiting for the weather to clear up before they begin working on any damaged power lines or poles as customer and employee safety is their number one priority.
