MIDLAND, Texas (Big 2/Fox 24) – If you live in Midland, your water may smell a little different starting June 1.
Officials with the City of Midland have announced they will begin their annual water maintenance project.
During the project, crews will switch the disinfectant type from chloramines, a combination of chlorine and ammonia, to free chlorine.
City officials say chlorine is more effective in inactivating certain types of bacteria.
The conversion will begin on June 1 and will continue for 30-days.
