The City of Midland is one step closer to finding a new chief of police.
City officials have named three finalist for the job.
They include:
- Seth Herman, of Midland.
- Phillip Smith Jr., of Roswell, NM.
- Jimmie Sevey of Nacogdoches.
Officials say they were chosen out of 34 for applicants for the position.
Herman has been serving as the interim police chief since former Chief Price Robinson retired.
Next week the three candidates will participate in a round of interviews with law enforcement, city management and others.
The interviews will be followed by a community reception, where the public will be able to meet them and ask questions.
