A 27-year-old man has been sentenced in connection with the murder of Walter Galicia.
Ernesto Lucio Natividad was sentenced to 20 years in prison Monday by a Midland County Jury, according to a release from the Midland County District Attorney’s Office.
According to officials at the DA’s office, Natividad and Galicia reportedly got into an argument at the Polo Club prior to the shooting back in 2016.
During the trial, Natividad reportedly claimed the shooting was in self-defense and that he did not intend to kill Galicia.
He was found guilty last weekend and was sentenced on Tuesday, according to the release.
The case was prosecuted by Assistant DA Timothy Flathers and Assistant DA Lacey Holloman. Judge Elizabeth Byeer Leonard presided over the case.
