MIDLAND, Texas (Nexstar)- Midland Police received a Crime Stoppers tip Tuesday that led them to an address at the Airline Mobile Home Park.
At that location, officers located the actor vehicle from this crash. A search warrant was executed at the residence and the suspect was detained.
During the investigation officers obtained arrest warrants for 19-year-old Armando Barba.
Barba was arrested and charged with accident involving death – second degree felony and tampering with physical evidence – third degree felony.
The actor vehicle is now believed to be a 2006-2009 Mercury Milan, tungsten gray in color. The vehicle should have damage to the front bumper and headlight area and it is believed that the damage will be to the front passenger side of the vehicle.
Midland Police are investigating a pedestrian hit and run crash that left one dead this weekend.
Around 12:23 a.m. June 6, Midland Police responded to the 3100 block of W Industrial about the crash.
Investigators say Theron Brown, 23, was walking in the middle of the road when he was hit by a dark colored car traveling west on Industrial. The driver of the car drove away from the scene.
Brown was taken to Midland Memorial Hospital where he died Monday.
The investigation is ongoing. MPD believes the vehicle involved may be a grey 2006-2009 Mercury Milan similar to the stock images below. The vehicle will have damage to the front bumper and headlight area. Police also think there may damage to the front passenger side of the vehicle.
