MIDLAND, Texas (Nexstar) – The Midland LEE Rebels are coming off a win against Amarillo High School in the opening week of the 6A season.
Although the Rebels got the win, Head Coach Clint Hartman says there is still a lot of work that needs to be done for this team to reach it’s full potential.
“Film isn’t as fun as everybody thinks it is because we didn’t play as well as we expect to play around here,” Coach Hartman said in a press conference Tuesday.
The biggest news for LEE fans, Mikey Serrano, the leader of the team at the Quarterback position is healthy and ready to go this week. Shemar Davis took snaps near the end of the game but Hartman explained that it was mainly due to the fact they were going to run the ball to kill some clock.
Coach Hartman spoke highly of his senior Quarterback and wants college teams to take notice.
LEE will be taking on another Amarillo school this week. The Rebels will be traveling to Amarillo Tascosa, a team that runs a very similar offense to that of a Basin rival.
The game in Amarillo is at 7 PM Friday night.
