MIDLAND, Texas (Big 2/Fox 24) – The Midland Hispanic Chamber is helping residents start their own business.

Those who want to open a business can bring their business plan to the chamber and they will walk them through the process and even offer free office space to those who aren’t ready to buy or rent a space in Midland.

The program also offers credit assistance, networking opportunities, and marketing strategies for those who need assistance in these areas.

Rachel Stone, the President & CEO of the Midland Hispanic Chamber said now, more than ever, she is seeing more and more Latinas open their own businesses.

“From starting the business plan to actually going to the bank. I’ll refer them to bankers if they aren’t comfortable going to the bank I go with them. It’s a whole process of watching them start their business to the day they open and hopefully we will do a ribbon cutting for them and watch them grow,” she said.

According to Stone, something that is unique about the Hispanic community is that they are very loyal and family-oriented. Often times it is not just one person going into business alone but they go into business with their family which helps grow the business.
