MIDLAND, Texas (Big 2/Fox 24) – Midland County Commissioners are working to keep county facilities clean through the COVID-19 pandemic. Commissioners approved to purchase disinfectant machines to use at county facilities and libraries.
“This will let each facility in the county and each library have one so that we can disinfect in between stuff. This is going to allow us, number one we’re looking forward to starting our court system back 1st of June if we can get these machines in place we can keep everything sanitized and disinfected,” says Midland County Judge Terry Johnson.
Johnson says that the plan is start court hearings on June 1 if they receive the disinfectant machines in time.
According to Johnson, the maximum the county could spend is about $600,000 but the county only spent, what he says is, about a tenth of the that.
He says that companies in the county have donated substantial PPE supplies allowing the county not to make those purchases and focus on disinfectant machines.
