The City of Midland has officially initiated the search for a new police chief.
Springsted Executive Recruitment began marketing the position on Wednesday.
The recruiting firm, based out of Addison, will review applications, screen candidates and recommend semi-finalists, according to a release from the city.
As you may recall, the city recently went through a similar process before settling on Steve Henry.
Soon after Henry took the reigns as the Police Chief, an internal investigation was launched amid allegations of misconduct.
Documents, obtained by KMID / KPEJ via a Freedom of Information Act Request, later revealed that Henry had reportedly made unwanted comments towards employees.
The city ultimately parted ways with Henry on April 20.
Following the departure of Henry, MPD promoted Seth Herman on an interim basis.
It is unclear if Herman will apply for the job, or if he is being considered as a candidate.
Officials say they hope the search will be complete by Thanksgiving.
