MIDLAND, Texas (Big 2/Fox 24) – Midland College is helping DACA recipients with an online information session Tuesday, September 22, 2020.
They wanted to make it as easy as possible and wanted to do it via Webex so that can access the Webex link on their cell phones or on their laptops.
The online session will help students navigate becoming a legal permanent resident, what a public charge means, and how to help their parents obtain legal status. Alfredo Chaparro, the Director of MC Cogdell Learning Center said it’s important that students feel supported especially now.
“With everything that has been going on at the national level on the topic of DACA we thought that this would be a good time to have an update on the DACA issue,” he said.
According to the Director, “This event is not only for students but also because many DACA’s are also out in careers, already working, so anyone interested in DACA issues; whether they’re a student or a professional, they are welcomed to attend and get an update.”
