Man wanted for multiple indecent assaults

ODESSA. Texas (ABC Big 2 / FOX 24) – Odessa Police is on a hunt for a man they say committed a string of indecent assaults through out the city. One of those assaults was all caught on camera.

Disturbing surveillance video shows a man approaching and groping a woman at Presotea in Odessa. The staff said they are disgusted by what had happened in their store.

“Knowing that can happen to anybody, not just women but to anybody, it just absolutely freaked me out,” said Caitlyn Alyson, Manager of Presotea. “Especially since I work here, sometimes I close here and it makes me worried about our other customers and our employees.”

Presotea has provided its surveillance footage to police. But Psong Bui, Owner of Presotea, wished he could have done more to help.

“I feel bad this happened in our store because this is the first time this has happened and I don’t know what to do,” Bui said. “The surveillance picture is kind of blurry. I’m upset about that. The camera is not very clear, it’s more helpful when it’s clearer.”

But it’s not the first time this has happened. Odessa Police said there have been three indecent assaults involving women within the last few days. Authorities believe the same person is responsible.

“It’s something we take very seriously, we have had several detectives who have been working around the clock on this ever since it began,” said Corporal Steve LeSueur. “We’re very confident that there is someone out there that knows who this person is.”

While this suspect is still at large, police are urging everyone to be aware of their surroundings and fight back if you’re targeted.

“They have the right to defend themselves,” Lesueur said. “Get and obtain as much information that they can. Where does this person run to? Are they in a vehicle? What’s their license plate?”

As for the staff at Presotea, they hope this person is caught sooner rather than later.

“I think he’ll get caught,” Bui said. “But I don’t know where he’s at and I think he will do it again.”

Anyone who has information on this suspect is asked to call Odessa Police at 432- 335-4696 or Odessa Crime Stoppers at 432-333-TIPS.
