One man has been charged with intoxication manslaughter following a fatal crash overnight in Odessa.
Police were called to the crash around 8:17 p.m. Sunday night in the 16000 block of Highway 80.
While investigating, officers learned that the driver of an Impala, Clark Arnold Beckett, was headed west on Highway 80 when he veered off the roadway and into oncoming traffic, according to a release.
Beckett then collided with a Chevrolet Tahoe that was headed east on Highway 80, police say.
The passenger of the Impala, Steve Hannabass, was pronounced dead at the scene of the crash.
Four passengers in the Tahoe were taken to Medical Center Hospital with non-life threatening injuries, police say.
Beckett, according to the release, was found to be intoxicated at the time of the crash and was charged with intoxication manslaughter and aggravated assault with a deadly weapon.
*Correction: A previous version of this story listed Hannabass as the driver of the Tahoe. It has since been corrected.
