Odessa Police have arrested one man in connection with a purchase order theft.

Police say on Wednesday, Loving Electric reported that a current employee, Kenneth Randall Russell, had made two purchase orders from items worth more than $10,000.

Company officials say the orders consisted of copper wire and various tools.

Russell was later interviewed by detectives and admitted to the purchase order theft and said he sold the items to pawn shots and scrap yards, according to a release.

Russell has been charged with theft of property.

Although one arrest has been made, OPD officials say they are dealing with dozens of purchase order theft reports in the city.

Anyone with information on the scams are asked to contact the OPD at 432-333-3641.
