One man is facing charges after Police officials say he threatened an officer following an arrest last week.

Odessa Police officials say officers were called to the Ector County Jail on Feb. 21, about the threat.

At the scene, officers learned that Fernando Gutierrez Jr. had threatened an officer after he was arrested, police say.

Gutierrez Jr. told an officers “I will catch you on the streets and we will see what happens. It’s not a threat it’s a promise. I also have friends and will be out in the morning and you will see what you get,” according to a release from the OPD.

Gutierrez Jr. was then charged with obstruction or retaliation.
