UPDATE: One killed in major crash, another in critical condition


UPDATE (9:06 a.m.) : Odessa Police officials say one of the victims involved in the crash Thursday night has died.

Police officials say Abigail Rueda was pronounced dead around 1:23 a.m. Friday morning by medical personnel.

ODESSA, Texas (Big 2/Fox 24) – Two people are in critical condition after a major crash in Central Odessa.

On October 22 around 6 p.m. Odessa Police and Odessa Fire Rescue responded to the 1300 block of East 7th Street to a major crash.

According to OPD, a pickup truck, driven by 35-year-old Domenic Sanchez was traveling westbound on 7th Street.

A car driven by 26-year-old Abigail Rueda, was traveling eastbound on 7th Street at a high rate of speed, a release reads.

Officials say both vehicles collided head-on.

Rueda was transported to a local hospital with life-threatening injuries and Sanchez suffered serious bodily injury, a release reads.

The investigation continues.
