A lockdown at Midland High has been lifted after reports of a possible weapon on campus, according to Midland ISD officials.
The district says one student alerted campus officials that another student may have had a weapon on campus.
Midland police were called and subsequently searched the school. No weapons were found and the lockdown was lifted at 2:19 p.m.
According to Lacy Sperry, Executive Director of Communications & Public Relations at MISD, the investigation is still ongoing and no arrests have been made.
She says the lockdown was purely a precautionary measure.
“Anytime something like this happens we go into safe mode immediately,” Sperry said.
There were no reports of any injuries.
