MIDLAND, Texas (YourBasin) – Family Promise of Midland hosted a groundbreaking ceremony Wednesday morning for its newest construction project.
The purpose of the project is to expand the organization’s day center, add five additional transitional housing units, and build onsite administrative offices. Currently, Family Promise of Midland serves ten families. But with the addition of the five new duplexes, it will allow the organization to help 20 families at any given time.
Although the organization has raised enough money to begin phase one of the project, they’re still shy of meeting the total cost of construction. Phase one of the project focuses on the expansion of the current day center and adding administrative offices to the build.
Phase two will focus on building five additional transitional housing duplexes, bringing the total to 10. Right now, Family Promise of Midland is $1,144,707 short.
Phase one of the project is expected to be completed in late October or early November of 2020.
