MIDLAND, Texas (Big 2/Fox 24) – Midland Police are investigating after a woman was killed in a shooting and another man was injured.

Police officials say around 2:30 a.m. Wednesday morning, officers were called to the 3600 block of Storey Avenue about a disturbance. At the scene, officers reported the front door of a home was unsecured, according to a release.

As officers approached, they announced themselves as police officers and heard multiple gunshots from inside of the home, the release reads.

Police officials say an officer then entered the home and found 41-year-old Brandy Snider dead and 44-year-old Lonnie Burcham injured with a self-inflicted gunshot wound.

While investigating the shooting, officers learned Burcham entered the home without consent and is accused of shooting Snider, according to a release.

Burcham has since been transported to a local hospital for treatment. Police officials say a warrant has been issued for Burcham, charging him with capital murder.
