Unified Midland to provide update on COVID-19 response

Local News

MIDLAND, Texas (Big 2/Fox 24) – Members of the Unified Command Team in Midland will discuss their COVID-19 response again Thursday morning.

The update will come after one new case was confirmed Wednesday. However, City officials say the patient is currently in California and has not been in the Tall City Since January.

Currently there are 123 Coronavirus cases reported in Midland County.

As healthcare workers continue to battle the virus locally, they will receive more help from the State government. Gov. Greg Abbott announced Wednesday that three cases of Remdesivir will be sent to hospitals in Midland and Odessa.

However, there was some good news this week in the battle against the Coronavirus.

City officials say they are ready to start opening public parks and restart youth sports, in line with Governor Greg Abbott’s orders.
