MIDLAND, Texas (Big 2/Fox 24) – Unified Midland, a joint effort that includes City and County leaders, medical officials and more, will provide another update on their COVID-19 response today.
Mayor Patrick Payton and County Judge Terry Johnson have been leading the charge in limiting the spread of the virus and manage the local economy.
Both entities have issued a disaster declaration and have made efforts to support business in the process. However, there is no shelter in place in Midland.
Currently, there are 30 confirmed Coronavirus cases in Midland County and one COVID-19 related death has been reported.
Hospital officials say they have tested more than 670 people and 135 of those tests are pending.
