MIDLAND, Texas (Big 2/Fox 24) – The COVID-19 numbers in Midland remain realtively similar, officials with the Unified Command Team in Midland announced today.
Midland Health CEO Russell Meyers said they still have 16 confirmed cases and have tested about 400 people for the virus. Midland Health is still waiting on results for about 100 of those tests.
Meanwhile, the City of Midland announced Thursday morning they would be closing playground areas throughout the city to promote social distancing.
Mayor Patrick Payton says the city has been considering several options and update their disaster declaration to reflect what City Council felt was fair and reasonable.
However, the mayor also noted that, regardless of what the city, state or federal government does, the burden remains on residents to do their part in social distancing and being responsible.
