MIDLAND COUNTY, Texas (Big 2/Fox 24) – Officials with the Unified Command Team in Midland County will provide another update Thursday morning.
The update will come as Coronavirus cases are back on the rise. Every day this week, officials with the City of Midland have announced more than 100 new Coronavirus cases.
Midland Health CEO Russell Meyers noted earlier this week that they are currently seeing a rising trend in both testing and the percentage of patients who are testing positive for the virus. Meyers also said they are assessing elective procedures and will be limiting visitation again at Midland Memorial Hospital.
MMH is also asking for additional resources to handle the surge and have already begun the process of onboarding staff.
Currently there are 4,771 COVID-19 cases in Midland County and 89 virus-related deaths.
