Two pursuits lead to multiple immigrants being arrested in Presidio County

PRESIDIO COUNTY (Nexstar) – Two pursuits in Presidio County led to multiple immigrants being arrested, according to Presidio County Sheriff’s Office Facebook page.

On February 3 around 10:30 a.m., Presidio Deputies assisted in a pursuit on Highway 67.

The pursuit began when Presidio Police tried to stop an SUV. The SUV failed to stop leading to the chase.

The vehicle stopped south of Shafter. The immigrants fled to avoid arrest but police were able to arrest all five immigrants. The immigrants were transported to Border Patrol for processing.

The second pursuit was the same day around 8 a.m. Presidio Deputies attempted to make a traffic stop when the vehicle failed to stop.

A short pursuit began within city limits before the immigrants left the vehicle and into residential area.

Presidio Deputies along with Presidio ISD Police, Presidio Police, and U.S. Border Patrol Horse Unit responded and later arrested the immigrants.
