(Nexstar) – Gas prices in the Lone Star State are on the rise again, according to AAA Texas.
The average price for a gallon of gas in Texas is now $2.64, which is seven cents more than on this day last week and 71 cents more than the same time last year.
“Texans are paying about 18 percent more to fill up today, compared to February,” Daniel Armbruster, spokesman with AAA Texas, said. “Prices are expected to continue climbing through the remainder of March, but potentially in smaller increments.”
AAA says drivers in El Paso are currently paying the most on average at $2.97 per gallon but Midland and Odessa are not far behind at $2.92 and $2.86.
Meanwhile, the national average is $2.88, AAA reports.
