Texas gas prices fall slightly

Local News

(Nexstar) – Statewide gas prices have fallen slightly, week-over-week, according to AAA Texas’ Weekend Gas Watch.

The average price for a gallon of gas is currently at $2.63, which is one cent less than the same day last week and up 81 cents from the same day last year. Although consumers are seeing a small dip in prices, AAA Texas says it is still some of the most expensive gas this year.

“Drivers are still filling up with the some of the most expensive gas of the year,” Daniel Armbruster, AAA Texas spokesman, said. “However, thanks to increased refinery production and a healthy gasoline supply, the upward trend in retail fuel prices seems to have taken a pause for now.”

Drivers in El Paso are currently paying the most on average at $2.96. However, drivers in Midland and Odessa are seeing similar prices at $2.93 and $2.87, data shows.
