MIDLAND, Texas (Big 2/Fox 24) – The Midland Police Department will now have a new tool in their arsenal to keep them safe and it is all thanks to the generosity of the Tall City.
Over the weekend, Ally Outdoors held a benefit concert for the MPD with the goal of raising funds for bulletproof vets called angel armor.
Collectively, the benefit yielded more than $185,000 in donations, which will be used to purchase the Angel Armor.
However, organizers say more is needed to outfit every officer with the armor. Shield 616, who helped organize the event says about $31,000 is still needed.
