Storms leave thousands without power

MIDLAND/ODESSA, Texas (Nexstar)- Thousands are without power in Midland and Odessa as storms hit the area.

According to Oncor, more than 3,000 customers in Odessa and more than 2,000 in Midland are currently without power amid at least 15 reported outages.

The estimated restoration time is currently unknown.

A weather alert on the Oncor website reads:

“We are continuing to monitor weather conditions as scattered showers and storms move through the area and are prepared to respond to any outages caused by this weather system. To report an outage call 888-313-4747, text OUT to 66267, use the MyOncor app or select “Report an Outage” located above the map.”

Oncor is also reminding the community about the dangers of downed power lines, saying “If you see a downed power line, stay away and call 911 immediately.”
