BIG SPRING, Texas (Nexstar) – Scenic Mountain Medical Center has changed its policy on visitation amid the pandemic.
SMMC has announced it will reopen its facility to visitors starting Wednesday.
“Decreasing positivity rates and hospitalization rats in our community related to COVID-19, as well as more people receiving the vaccine, makes us feel more comfortable opening up for visitation,” Chief Medical Office Dr. Rohith Saravanan said in a statement. “It is also the right move for our patients and their families.”
Visitors will still be required to undergo self-screening upon entering the facility and will be required to wear a mask at all times, according to the release.
Visitors for patients with COVID-19 will still be restricted.
Visiting hours at SMMC are as follows:
- Monday through Friday – 7 a.m. to 7 p.m.
- Saturday and Sunday – 9 a.m. to 5 p.m.
