Rock the Desert takes a year-long break

Local News

MIDLAND, Texas(Big 2/ Fox 24) – Rock the Desert festival has been around for almost two decades. However, the famous annual Christian festival will have a year-long rest in 2020.

One of the board members explains why the year-long rest.

“It’s been 20 years,” Mary Tull says. And I think we need to take some time to consider where the ministry is going there’s a lot of aspects to the ministry.

Marcy says it’s time to focus on other missions and it’s also time to step back to make sure the mission isn’t headed into too many different directions.

“We’re going to see where we’re headed in the future through prayer and fasting and discussion.” She says.

The Christian festival may not come to a complete end.

“I agree we need to take this break,” Tull says. “I think it will be a little emotional here in three weeks on the last night but it’s all been good we had a lot of great memories.”
