WASHINGTON (Nexstar) – President Joe Biden and First Lady Jill Biden will visit Texas following a record-breaking winter storm last week.

The President is scheduled to visit Houston, according to the White House.

White House Press Secretary Jen Paski added, President Biden will meet with local leaders, discuss relief efforts, recovery, and more during his visit.

Since the winter storm last week, President Biden has approved Governor Greg Abbot’s request for a major disaster declaration in specific counties throughout the state.

Many are still assessing the damages sustained from the storm and others are just now getting their power back on or water services restored.
